Avalon A. Manly started teaching in New Orleans in 2011. After three years there, she moved back home to Colorado Springs, where she taught for a year in Harrison School District 2, worked as a journalist as she took time out of the classroom, and returned to teach Language and Literature at Rampart High School in 2017. She was educator of the year at Rampart in 2020, and currently works at Rampart as their IB Coordinator. She has worked in education organizing for the past 6 years and serves AEA this year as a co-president.
Eric Rosenquist is an Organizational Specialist with the National Education Association. He has worked at the NEA for six years and has been a part of the labor movement for more than a decade. Some of the events of which Eric is most proud are supporting the educator walk-outs in West Virginia, Oklahoma and Arizona the during the 2018 Red4Ed movement and winning key elections in 2020 and 2022. He most often works on organizing programs involving member-organizers and issue advocacy campaigns. In his spare time, Eric enjoys hiking, biking, traveling and reading.
